Have we become slaves to technology

Everybody wants to create his own group on WhatsApp and add all members as he desires. With the latest upgrade, the number of members can be increased up to 100. If you are a member in 5 groups and each member sends one message a day, you will receive 500 messages.. If you spend half a minute on each, you need around 4 hours per day.

It doesn’t stop her but if you have other social network applications such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, google+, Twitter, Emails, … etc., then you need a minimum of 6-8 hours per day. It is unbelievable that you need to consume one third of your day on your smart phone, laptop, computer, tablets and others moving from one application to another. If you spend the other two thirds between work and sleep, how much time is left to develop yourself and achieve your goals related to yourself, your family and your society? How much time is allocated for your dialogue with the family, your parents, spouse and children?
This is just part of the technology excluding the TV, PlayStation and others for entertainment. Technology has great advantages and benefits that should make our lives easier and more enjoyable. However, if it is abused, it will physically isolate us from ourselves and the rest of the people around us. Whether we like it or not, technology has invaded our lives and substantially influenced our behaviors and conduct. Many people are checking their phones almost every 5-15 minutes if not less, and they use them everywhere while sitting with family members, friends, in meetings, taking meals, in bed, driving, walking and even in bathrooms!
One third of our life is wasted unconsciously if we continue being slaves to technology without watching out for our time management and proper control of being more selective of what is adding value. It is not only us but we have to pay more attention to our new generations, prioritize and focus on the most appropriate and important objectives.
People who fail to achieve their goals and succeed always claim that they don’t have enough time. This statement is repeated by irresponsible individuals who cannot manage their time. Everybody in the world has the same amount of time but the difference is how valuable and precious is this time for each of us to utilize it wisely and efficiently
